- Donate your 2007 tax refund. Simply write in your gift amount next to SMART’s name on the Oregon tax form:

- Start or join a SMART Chapter. Chapters are teams of citizens who raise funds, recruit reading volunteers and generate awareness for SMART in their communities. Learn more HERE.
- Join the SMART Kids Club. This is a giving society for individuals who make minimum annual $10,000 pledges to help fund SMART for 33 or more children. Download the fact sheet including contact info and current member list.
Fact Sheet - Engage in business giving. Make a corporate donation, sponsor a SMART event or promotion, match employee gifts, and/or hold a workplace giving campaign.
- Make an in-kind contribution. Donate ad space, printing, event space, event food and beverage, and other goods and services to SMART.
- Donate your vehicle. Call Charitable Auto Resources at 866-910-READ (866-910-7323) or fill out a short online form to arrange a pickup time - open seven days a week. SMART receives a donation once your vehicle has been sold at auction, and you will receive a tax receipt from CARS.
- Receive a 100% tax credit. Donate to SMART followed by a matching gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust online to earn a tax credit. Unlike a tax deduction that only reduces the amount of your taxable income, a tax credit reduces the amount of tax you owe. Your gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust will reduce your April Oregon Income Tax bill dollar for dollar. Visit culturaltrust.org for more info.
