Children in every community are waiting to be paired with a volunteer reader. Can you help? Refer a friend (or two or three) to SMART. Thank you!

I thought you might be interested in volunteering with the SMART reading program for elementary age children. Your job is simple: help kids discover the joy of reading!

Volunteers meet one-on-one with two kids each week (one hour total) to help them practice and/or model good reading skills. SMART partners with more than 200 schools throughout Oregon so chances are there's a program near you.
