Becoming a SMART Reader is a fulfilling way to help the children in your community develop a love of reading. We hope you’ll enjoy the experience as much as they will!
To recap, here are your essential responsibilities:
- Make a weekly commitment to read at a neighborhood school for the school year (most programs operate from mid-October through mid-May).
- Undergo a background check and attend an in-person orientation.
- Provide a fun, one-on-one reading experience for the children.
- Follow SMART’s safety policies.
