SMART is a weekly commitment for one hour during the school day from October through May. Substitutes may be arranged for occasional absences.
Minors under the age of 18 are required to download and mail a paper application, along with two letters of recommendation from non-family members. If you have any questions, locate and contact your local SMART office by clicking here.
To learn more about the populations of students and volunteers we are serving, SMART is collecting ethnicity/race information. Responses will be used for internal purposes only and will be kept confidential. If you prefer not to disclose this information, please select that option.
Oregon businesses support SMART. Employers often donate to support causes their employees volunteer with, and may inquire about how many employees they have volunteering with SMART. For this purpose, please share the name of your work place.
All applicants must read and agree below. I agree not to publish or disclose to anyone outside of SMART any confidential or business information or material from SMART, either before, during, or after employment with SMART, except with SMART's written permission.
I agree to conform to the instructions, rules, and policies outlined in the SMART Volunteer Policy & Procedure Guide and my position description. I understand that either the volunteer or the organization may at any time, for whatever reason, discontinue the volunteer service relationship.
